Landslides

Landslides happen when sites with certain soil conditions are hit by  intense rainfall. To define the risk and design proper mitigation measures, ISMES takes the following approach:

  • Definition of the geological conditions at the site
  • Analysis of hydraulic, hydrological and hydrogeological conditions at the site
  • Interaction between natural events and structures (e.g. landslides)
  • Numerical models for vulnerability assessment
  • Definition and design of mitigation measures for reducing/mitigating risk
  • Design, installation and management of monitoring systems to reduce the risk
